Community Craft is an open to anybody who would like to knit or crochet items for Melbourne’s Knitting for the Needy to donate to people in need. Items made are not donated to Op Shops for sale.
Tuesdays 10 am – 12 noon
$4 *weekly or $35 term payment. *(exact change is required)
Cost: $4 per session or $35 (full term payment preferred)
Community Craft volunteers make some beautiful and practical items such as blankets, knitted toys, scarves and hats for people in need of some comfort and kindness. All items made throughout the year are distributed by Melbourne’s Knitting for the Needy volunteers to disadvantaged people (parents and children, homeless persons or living in aged care)
You can knit or crochet according to your interests and skill level while you have a friendly chat and a cuppa. Beginners are most welcome and can start off making easy knitted squares in garter (plain) stitch to be joined together to make blankets.
Wool is donated so please don’t buy any(unless you are making something for yourself). BYO size 8 needles or a crochet tool and a snack. Tea/coffee is provided
